A Dream Born in Abu Dhabi

Every great story begins with a dream.

Chutney Stories was born in Abu Dhabi with a simple yet powerful vision—to create a South Indian dining experience that celebrates authenticity, innovation, and the joy of sharing great food.

We arrived to this city with dreams and determination, just like so many other people that came to this city with dreams and determination, and started working to make something great. An opportunity to experience traditional South Indian cuisine in a new, modern and friendly setting.

Chutney Stories is now more than just a restaurant. It's become a family, friends, food and a community of people sharing our love of honest food and memorable moments.

What Makes Us Unique

Chutney Stories has been designed to bring you closer to South India in every layer. We don’t just serve food; we serve a traditional experience rooted in authenticity and crafted with care.

Handmade Dosas

Our dosas are not just a breakfast staple; they symbolize hours of patience and precision, starting with the slow fermentation of the batter, not to mention the expertise of a good chef who can create a perfectly-spread golden and paper-thin dosa!

Imprinted Coffee Filter

No South Indian meal is complete without filter coffee. We brew the traditional way with an imprinted brass filter to allow the coffee decoction to drip down and create the strong, masala base of coffee. When poured with frothy milk, the filter coffee is a ritual, and a moment of pause, comfort and denying dehydration.

Slow Ground Spices

South India is not one cuisine, but a tapestry of states, cultures and flavors. Our menu reflects this specialty by featuring dishes like Avial, a Kerala dish, Chettinad curries from Tamil Nadu, and Gongura delights from Andhra, topped off by Mangalorean from Karnataka. By emphasizing regional specialties, we are bringing South India to Abu Dhabi.

Celebrating South India's Hidden Culinary Treasures

South Indian cuisine is incredibly diverse, with countless regional delicacies that often remain undiscovered beyond their hometowns. At Chutney Stories, we are on a mission to bring these hidden gems to Abu Dhabi.

We constantly search and create special cuisine from various parts of south India, some of which are not available in the UAE and even in the part of India. From Acre Idli and Madurai Butter Bun to Karuppu Kavuni Arisi Halwa and Karuvapillai Podi Idli, every dish tells a story of heritage, culture, and culinary craftsmanship.

Our menu continues to evolve, with new discoveries introduced regularly to keep every visit exciting and memorable.
